Celebrate Me Home

My son John and I, Christmas Day

How was your Christmas? I hope you had a chance to be with loved ones and the special people in your life.

Did you travel? Are you home?

I think wherever we are on Christmas Day, that is home. Home is where we can put our feet up, sip a toddy or a good cup of coffee and eat one of our aunt’s delicious cookies.

Home is where our dog is, our children are and the fireplace is lit. There is laughter and music, jokes and good times.

We cherish those we are with and miss the ones who are gone. Our heart breaks a bit but is mended by the knowlege that their memory lives on in our soul forever and ever.

I found this video of one of my favorite songs and it is my Christmas card to you! Blessings to you my friend, for the rest of this year and the year to come!

Join me on my graceful journey.

  1. It sounds like your Christmas was wonderful…that makes me smile. A beautiful photo of you and your son. My son, Robert, and I had a very nice Christmas…nothing fancy, but we were together, and enjoyed the evening doing a bit of cooking together and relaxing.

Thank you for the Christmas card video…very nice. Be blessed, Joanne,
    Marianne xo

    1. Hi Marianne, how nice that you and your son were together.
I kept hearing Celebrate Me Home all month and had an emotional feeling about the song often. It brought back alot of memories when I was away at college as a young girl.
So good to hear from you.
      Blessings,
      xo Joanne

  2. Christmas was almost drama free…there were a few moments! I had one very sick 3 year old, but everyone seemed happy. We ended it on a good note, taking the kids to see the Christmas lights and ended up at Denny’s for ‘hot chocolate’…which ended up being a second dinner for most, lol! Don and I had desert and coffee, but all the kids ended up eating food. My dad opted to skip this year in light of the very sick 3 year old…because it was a holiday, I couldn’t get her prescription filled :(. But we will see him tomorrow!
Honestly, Christmas has not been the same since we moved to Texas 16 years ago.
I am glad you had a good one! Thank you for sharing the video!

    1. I think the snow and cold is a part of it (we do get pretty cold, but usually not until January and February). I think it’s the family time and traditions that go with it. For most of the time it was just the 4 of us and that was a huge difference from when we lived there. Sometimes we were lucky enough to go back for Christmas, but the weather is so unpredictable at this time of year!

  3. Hi Joanne, thank you for sharing the Christmas card video! I had never heard the song before & I love it! “Celebrate Me Home”….what an awesome song to celebrate the Christmas holiday! Blessings right back to you!!

  4. We celebrated Christmas a few days early with all the kids here. LOVELY to spend time together, enjoying each other’s company and remembering the birth of Christ. I feel so blessed to have my husband and kids in my life.
    Happy New Year, Joanne!
