My birthday was yesterday and boy, did I feel special. I want to tell you about so sit back with a cup of coffee and let’s chat.

First, the day was absolutely gorgeous. No rain for a change though from the sight of the clouds in the morning, I thought that may happen. The sky was a bright blue with very fluffy clouds.

Jim already bought me roses a couple of days before and they were blooming like there was no tomorrow. We had coffee together in the morning and then I was off to a very special church service.

Andrew was being ordained to the priesthood. I knew about this for a while and I wasn’t missing it. I assisted Andrew and his lovely wife Lena on their wedding day and I wanted to be there for this service. It was beautiful.

Afterwards there was a beautiful luncheon. I bumped into my cousin Angie there so we sat together. I headed for home and took a much needed nap! Around 5pm, Jim and I headed out for a wedding reception!

This is the first time ever that I went to a wedding on my birthday. I loved Anthony’s boutonniere- it was a mini-transformer! Maria was so beautiful. Their card box was a Dr. Who phone booth. đŸ™‚

The cookie table was a mile long and who’s going to miss that? What a spectacular end to my birthday!

  1. No one deserves a good birthday more than you! I am so glad you got to enjoy it! The wedding sounded lovely and boy do I miss the cookie table! Heather, Daniels fiance, had never heard of it, but wants one at their wedding…she is going to bring a bit of Pittsburgh to Virginia for the wedding in 2 years! Maybe we can convince the caterer to get some perogies or Isaly’s chipped ham, lol!
I must be behind the times (and obviously not Catholic) because I didn’t know a married man could become ordained as a priest, How wonderful for that!
Have a very happy Thanksgiving! For today, I have a lot to be thankful for…

    1. In the Greek Orthodox church they can marry if they are not yet ordained. Orthodox priests can have wives and families. If they want to be a bishop or archbishop they cannot marry. I think you should have a cookie table! And chipped ham or perogies would be awesome! Blessings to you on Thanksgiving Cathy! xoxo

  2. Hi Joanne, what a beautiful & blessed birthday you had! As I read this lovely post, I couldn’t help but think all the events of the day symbolized “blessings of love”♡ From the beautiful clouds in the early morning to begin the holiday of the “Presentation”, the ordination(no greater love than to serve Christ), a wedding, and a birthday! Wow, what a day of love!! …and cookies too!

  3. What a wonderful birthday you had, Joanne. The details made it feel like I was there watching, except for the goodies. đŸ™‚ I’m still drooling.
